Insisting that her foray into the world of performing arts was not a flash-in-the-pan decision, a Science student , Yaaneea Bharadwaj says that it’s her passion & love for the craft of acting which is the prime factor that attracts her to be a part of Bollywood

Yaaneea who has been a theatre artist and a known face for TV commercial, is receiving accolades for her role in Excel Entertainments new Amazon Prime Special ‘Made In Heaven’. The show is a Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti creation and is a multi-director web-series.
Yaaneea nails the character ‘Sukhmani’ in episode number 5- ‘A Marriage of Convenience’ with a spectacular performance.. She plays a small town Punjabi girl who desires to go and live in America but has to settle for a green card husband who is impotent. Heavily inspired old Bollywood actresses, not well educated, loud make up & dressing aptly describes her character “I had to behave completely opposite to myself Playing Sukhmani was a beautiful experience. I am totally opposite to her. I am very calm composed person, not at all loud in nature. It was challenge & I loved it”
“Although most of my dialogues were in Hindi I had to prepare myself for a Punjabi accent while speaking Hindi for which I used to converse in Punjabi with all my friends starting a 10-15 days prior to the shoot. I even gained 4kgs of weight in order to look perfect for my part as she’s a typical Punjabi girl” adds Yaaneea
While the actress is over the moon with the recognition her character “Sukhmani” is receiving, Yaaneea wants to experiment with her roles “I don’t want to be type casted. I want to be play different roles for that matter characters which have never been played before. Infact, I love playing dark edgy roles which is absolutely opposite to my character in Made In Heaven. I can take roles & do justice with them, research is my forte”
A professionally trained Gymnastics And Taekwondo, Yaaneea also happens to be the first female actor in India to do Nunchucks with Hrithik Roshan in a television commercial.
She started her journey as a theatre artist with Salim Arif. She later performed in many plays of Gulzar & did Neeraj Kabi’s workshops which transforms her into an actor “Acting has been an obsession and passion, for me it was never a job, it was my calling. I love global cinema, every day I watch atleast 1 film of different language. I love it”
